• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

The Championship says no to VAR

It’s a crap experience on TV, but it’s 10 times worse in the ground. Despite what the UK media might have you believe, it’s not just the PL either. It’s been horrendously implemented throughout Europe - just there’s different types of incompetence in different countries.

Even less so after this start 🤣

    New Chelsea manager is

He came across well as a pundit on Sky years ago and did well at Hull, but some of the things he has said at Chelsea were very strange. After the 2nd or 3rd time, you’d think that someone would have pulled him and said ‘don’t say that, you sound like a right twat’.

Can’t see it happening but would love to send Nathan Jones down. He won’t be running into the stands then 😂

    JackArmy.net - Twenty-Five Years And Out

Loved reading the site over the years and contributing over the last year after giving up on the toxicity of twitter. Thanks for everything you’ve done Phil, not just on here but also with the Trust. Your passion and selflessness has always shone through whenever I’ve heard you speak at the...

    Sam Parker

He’s made a really good start for sure, but there’s a big difference between playing 60-70 minutes for a handful of games to playing 90 minutes for 40+ games as Tymon has for the last 3 years. If Parker is able to play 20-25 matches next season and continue to develop I’d be delighted.

Ahh fair play. I’m not on twitter so only saw the screenshot 👍 There’s hope for journalism 🤣🤣

BBC Wales Sport News Tonight .

I stopped caring after Soccer Sunday finished when I was a teenager! It’s really not worth worrying about. By any footballing metric we’ve been by far the most successful Welsh club over the last 50 years. Everyone knows that no matter how much they protest or pretend to ignore it.

    Galbraith

Whilst there are no doubt discussions ongoing that tweet sums up how little journalists know! He’s already under contract until 2028, with an option of an extra 12 months. They can’t be expected to be taken seriously if they don’t do basic research, and that also shows why supporters shouldn’t...

    OK I'll say it

We’re a mid table team, which we’ve been for the last 4 seasons. Despite some really poor runs (poor management at times) and some very good runs we’ve never finished in the top 8 or bottom 8 since Cooper left. The positives are the age profile of the squad and the potential for a handful to...

    S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | QPR 1 Swansea City 2 | Att: 13,835 | Tuesday 21st April | The EFL Championship | Matrade Loftus Road

Definitely the two positions we need starters in for next season. I think Matos will want 6 midfielders that he’s happy to start, as we’re using 5 pretty much every game. If Galbraith is sold we’ve got: Stamenic, Fulton, Franco, Widell, Walta +1 (I wouldn’t count Cullen in this even though...

Fair point on the injuries, but there’s a difference between looking after a young player and getting 0 minutes for most of the season. Don’t get me wrong I’m delighted with how well he’s doing and if he’s now considered a potential starter then happy days.

Agree on Parker. Seems all the more strange that there’s been such a reluctance to play him over the last 12-18 months - especially when Key was struggling. I just assumed they felt he was miles off playing regularly at this level, but he’s played against some decent sides/wingers on paper...

That’s about as good as it gets in an end of season game between 2 mid table sides. Could and probably should have been out of sight. Good to see Walta, Parker & Idah get some more minutes. There’s definitely the nucleus of a decent (pushing playoffs) side there, especially when you consider...

The Championship says no to VAR

It’s interesting that one of the reasons stated in that article is the owners concern of the impact on fans. Maybe they all deserve some credit for once!! I’ve heard a few ex-players calling for a challenge system like this, but it’d definitely be abused and manipulated for tactical reasons...

    Season 26/27

Depends what he wants I guess. If Spurs get relegated, I can see him staying there for another year, as they’ll want a handful of players who know what the Championship involves (appreciate Ben has never played there though).

The Championship says no to VAR

I was for technology coming in, but the way it’s been implemented it’s a no from me. Absolutely awful experience in the ground and that should be the number one concern (obviously it isn’t and hasn’t been for years though!)

    Club accounts

Has the reality hit for the owners that it's far more difficult to tread water financially than they thought, let alone make money/get promoted from the Championship? I guess this summer will tell us quite a bit about their hopes and ambitions for the short/medium term.
  20. F

    Ok, I'll say it.

After 20-30 appearances (assuming they're not just 5-10 minutes cameos) you can usually make a good initial assessment on ability, and suitability for the league they are playing in. If you're looking at 'value for money' then it probably takes longer to judge, partly due to the fact that...
