Kim Hellberg - New Manager?

Would Swansea's owners look to Martin, who still has many admirers within the club after his previous spell at the club?

The suggestion, for the moment at least, is that it is unlikely.

Martin was Swansea boss between 2021 and 2023, when his teams finished 15th and then 10th in the second tier.

Having worked amid financial constraints at Swansea, Martin left for Southampton and won promotion to the Premier League in his first season before losing his job as they struggled in the top flight, and he is now a free agent after a difficult spell at Rangers.

Martin remains a popular figure among players and staff at Swansea and would be open to the idea of coming back to Wales.

He would also bring a possession-based philosophy – while his statistics as a coach indicate he would improve Swansea in attack, which has been their biggest problem this season.

But despite the fact that Martin ticks many boxes, a reunion seems improbable with Swansea's owners seemingly against the idea.

How many players are still here since the fraud walked out on us? I'm hoping it's just lazy journalism like it is with them linking Brendan to us.

Honestly we'd be a laughing stock employing Martin after the disasters of Rangers and Southampton.

Honestly I’d be gutted I don’t want us fannying around at the back all season again gifting goals left right and centre whilst he’s saying it’s a process.

If Martin is brought back to the club, I won't set foot in the stadium whilst he's in our dugout.

Rhol has managed to win a game with Ranger which is more than his predecessor managed.

Happy to chat like grown ups if you're up for it. If not I've got better things to do than argue with a pensioner on the internet
