Is it me or has the stadium atmosphere the last couple of home games been a bit flat? Paterson was urging the crowd to make some noise yesterday and he received little to no reaction to it.

Said the same yesterday to my mate sitting next to me , when we are in possession it is most of the time so slow and pedestrian with little forward movement of the ball that it is a job for people to get enthusiastic and raucous. Take the 5 min period after half time when we scored, the crowd were really up for it, but unfortunately we didn't hold out long enough to benefit us, but a lot of the time it is like a training session with the ball going around the midfield and defence backwards and sideways and to be honest it's difficult to get excited about that.

We’re the highest in the league for successful passes into the final 3rd and yesterday we had 19 shots with 10 of them on target, Steve Cooper barely managed to get us having 2 shots on target all game.

I'm not knocking the stats from yesterday I'm just giving a reason why the crowd are sometimes quiet , we very rarely break at pace like we used to when Dan James was in the side. A guy who sits behind me says the same thing most games " We have to be patient today ,they have got 11 men behind the ball". but a lot of the time because of our slow build up play we give these teams the opportunity to put 11 men behind the ball.

Should bare in mind that many of those shots were easily blocked when trying to walk it into the net wasn't working.

But you are right. We had Steve Cooper type shot stats more in the previous two games before Reading and yet managed to get four points out of six.

Football is a funny old game at times.

Yet on goals per game prior to Saturday our average was identical to last season.
Which considering the form Pato and Piero are in is a bit surprising

The last 10 minutes, when we were pushing to get something out of the game, the atmosphere went up a few notches, but other than that, it was generally pretty flat imo.
