Ticket Booths At White Rock

New ticket booths are to be installed at the New Stadium Swansea in readiness for this weekend’s fixture with Bristol City, Swansea Stadium Management Company (SSMC) revealed today.

The booths, which will offer cash-only tickets from an additional six points of sale, will allow a speedier entry for fans arriving close to kick-off time, and help to eradicate the queuing and entry problems which some fans have experienced at some recent games.

While the Stadium has enjoyed large attendances – nearly 17,000 spectators attended the opening League fixture with Tranmere and another large crowd is expected this coming Saturday – Stadium managers have acted to alleviate concerns over large match days queues at the ticket office. Whilst fans are still urged to purchase their tickets in advance of fixtures whenever possible, the new measures are aimed at speeding up the sale of tickets to supporters who turn up on match days without pre-bought tickets.

The ticket booths will be sited adjacent to the Stadium turnstiles and will service the stands which have unsold tickets available. They will be open from 1pm this Saturday for cash sales only of adult tickets and spectators who wish to purchase tickets by means other than cash, who require concessionary tickets or who are collecting pre ordered tickets must go to the ticket office as normal. So, while fans will still need to arrive a minimum of 1/2 an hour before kick-off, with the help of these new booths, congestion at the gates should be greatly reduced.

A Stadium spokesperson commented:

“We’ve consulted with other stadiums and performed a thorough review of our ticketing systems and this is the first outcome of that review. It’s still very much a learning process and we’ll continue to monitor the effectiveness of ticketing and entry procedures to ensure we’re delivering the best possible level of service to all spectators. We’re confident that these new booths will offer a significant improvement and help us to deliver a quality service. However, this isn’t a quick fix and if we need to further review the systems in the future to ensure our customers get the best possible stadium experience, then that’s exactly what we’ll do. Spectators are reminded that the ticket office is open as usual from 11.30 am to 7.30 pm Monday to Friday and from 10.00 am on match day. There are plenty of tickets still available but we would urge people to turn up early. Finally, spectators are reminded that they are not able to purchase tickets on match days via the internet or phone lines.”

Tickets for the Swans next home fixture against Nottingham Forest on Saturday 24th September go on sale from 11.30 am this coming Monday.
