Hartson – a life long Swansea City fan – was not going into huge detail but has told the Evening Post that he will be applying for tha managerial vacancy.
Hartson will join the names already linked – which include his former Welsh team mates in Chris Coleman and Gary Speed – for consideration for the job vacated on Sunday evening by Paulo Sousa.
Hartson told the Evening Post "I am definitely interested in the job and I will be applying for it.
"But I really can't say any more than that because I will be going through the necessary channels."
Hartson has his UEFA A licence.
Also in the frame – as reported by the Post is Brentford manager Andy Scott and Nigel Adkins amongst other names already linked.
