Click here for the report<\/a> tells you just how dull that particular encounter was but it does highlight just how quickly things can change in football.<\/p>\nYork took eight years to return to the football league and during that period the Swans won three promotions to become a Premier League club, moving from the Vetch Field to the Liberty Stadium in the process.<\/p>\n
We have been down this road of discussion before but nobody would have predicted that when they left the Vetch that afternoon in May 2004. The Swans team that day contained Alan Tate, Lee Trundle, Leon Britton and Roberto Martinez as well as Kristian O’Leary and Roger Freestone who of course played his last league game for the club that day although we did not appreciate it at the time.<\/p>\n
The story of York takes on more significance when you consider that just twelve months previous it was us who could have been relegated from the league highlighting again the importance of that famous win over Hull in 2003.<\/p>\n
York do have some previous form in this competition including a 3-0 win at Old Trafford in 1995 and a very famous FA Cup win as well over Arsenal in the 1980s. They also beat Newport at Wembley in 2012 in the FA Trophy final.<\/p>\n
