Ian Craney has six goals this season – five of them from outside the box and two directly from a corner. But after almost six months in Swansea, the midfielder is still searching for his first goal for the club although he would be just happy to see them reach the play offs this weekend.<\/p>\n

It’s been 18 games since his switch from Accrington but Craney admits that a lack of goals is partly down to a different role he has at the Liberty <\/p>\n

“I’m desperate to get the goal, but it’s not the main thing in my mind,” said Craney.<\/p>\n

“I want to play well, but the team getting a win is most important. Although getting a goal against Blackpool would be a dream for me.<\/p>\n

"I’ve got a different role to the one I had at Accrington. It’s more of a team role. I used to just get in the box, I had no defensive role. But since the gaffer’s come in, he wants me to do the all-round game, and it’s been great.<\/p>\n

“It’s not in our hands, but, if we win the game, we’ve got a chance. It’s interesting. We’ve just got to hope things go our way,<\/p>\n

“But Blackpool are a very good team, well-organised and it’s going to be difficult.<\/p>\n

“You look at the Oldham game and people would say Chesterfield aren’t expected to get anything, but this is football and funny things do happen.<\/p>\n

“All the lads will be gutted if we don’t make it, but if we don’t, we’ve got to take this form now into next season.”<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n
