Steve Kean has hit back after Brendan Rodgers said his side would never take the direct route for survival<\/p>\n
Kean said\u00a0“I thought we mixed our game up well and I take exception to that.<\/p>\n
“When it’s there to be passed we will pass it, and if we are good at set-plays, which we are, it’s not an embarrassing fact that we will try to exploit that.<\/p>\n
“Swansea knock it about very well. It’s each to their own, but I think we mix it up.<\/p>\n
“You can’t have players like Junior Hoilett, Morten Gamst Pedersen and Ruben Rochina and not mix it up, because they won’t be happy just playing long balls.<\/p>\n
“But if you have a free-kick and you have got the likes of Chris Samba, Scott Dann and Yakubu playing against a slightly smaller Swansea team, you are going to try to exploit that.<\/p>\n
“I like the way Swansea play but I think we mix it up well.”<\/p>\n
