Swansea City Supporters Trust have been informed by Board Member and Supporter Director, Leigh Dineen, that he will be standing down from the Trust Board at the end of this Trust year (August) and will also therefore be resigning his position as Supporter Director.
Leigh has indicated that he will retain his place on the Board of Swansea City Football Club together with his position as Vice-Chairman.
Leigh Dineen was an inaugural member of Swans Trust when it was formed in 2001 and he has held the position of Supporter Director since the club changed hands in the early days of 2002. He has committed countless hours for the Supporters Trust and the Football Club free of charge and has been instrumental in the massive strides taken by the club in that time.
Ron Knuszka, Chairman of the Trust commented: “It is with great regret that Leigh informed me of his decision. Having worked tirelessly with the Trust over the past five years, Leigh now feels that it is time to step backward and concentrate on his role within the football club together with his family life.
“As a Trust we will always be indebted to Leigh for his dedication to both the Trust and the Club and we most certainly would not be where we are now if it were not for that work. Naturally we will remain in close contact with Leigh as the Trust looks to work closely with the club and I offer our heartfelt thanks for his commitment of the last five years.”
Leigh will formally stand down from the Trust Board at the forthcoming AGM and the post of Supporter Director will be filled shortly after this meeting which takes place in August. The new Supporter Director will be appointed by the Trust Board from those elected members drawn from the annual election process and who have served as elected members for at least one year.
Details of the election process can be obtained by writing to SCST, 57 St Helens Road, SA1 4BE or by ringing 07977 382328.
