The Swansea City manager insists that it is a case of keeping the good form going but at the same time knows that he won’t want his side to be on the wrong end of a second consecutive defeat at the Ricoh Arena.

He is backed by a statistic that the Swans are let to lose two consecutive league games under his management – well, in the same season anyway – and that is a record that they will be looking to keep going this evening as they try once again to break into the division’s top six.

โ€œI was delighted with our performance against Birmingham,โ€ Martinez told the Western Mail.

โ€œThe result could have been a lot different if we had been a bit more clinical.

โ€œWe had them against the ropes, we were the better side overall in every department and the result sometimes is just a circumstance.

โ€œYou have an ex-international striker like Kevin Phillips then who only seems to need one chance to score two goals!

โ€œIn my eyes it was not a defeat. Our performance was enough for me to take something positive from it.

โ€œIt will be a completely different game. We are away from home in a fantastic arena,โ€ said Martinez.

โ€œCoventry are coming in off the back of a very good result and their confidence will be high.

โ€œWe need to be ready and we are desperate to go there and get rid of that bad feeling we had on Friday night.

โ€œChris is a Swansea boy and he enjoyed his time here and that will never go away,โ€ added Martinez.

โ€œBut once you start a game he will only have eyes for Coventry and making sure they win.โ€
