The Swansea City captain put in a man of the match like performance at the heart of the Swans defence in the 2-2 draw.

Winning just about everything both in the air and on the floor, Monk was outstanding as he led his team from the front towards their ultimate goal which was to win the game and move into the division’s top 6.

But that never materialised and they had to be content with a draw despite havingย  the lions share of possession in an entertaining encounter at the Liberty.

โ€œWe want to win our home games, simple as that,โ€ he told the Western Mail.

โ€œIt was a great game to play in but we are disappointed to only get a point because we desperately wanted to give the fans all three.

โ€œItโ€™s a weird feeling. Obviously everyone is happy we didnโ€™t lose and that we came back from 2-1, but we all know we could have got more.

โ€œWe all want to win these games. And, with them going down to 10 men so early, maybe we should have done.โ€
