The Swansea City striker notched numbers six and seven of the season against Barnsley on Tuesday night as they fought back from two goals down to snatching a point in the last minute of stoppage time.

And that is form that Scotland is looking to take into this weekend’s clash with Sheffield United when the Swans look to end a run that has seen them draw the last four games.

Speaking to the Western Mail, the Swans striker said โ€œSometimes I think about it and ask myself how much people actually want from me,โ€ he joked. โ€œThey probably think I set a high standard last season so they expect the same in the Championship.

โ€œItโ€™s almost as if they want me to score 25-30 goals this season as well. But chances are much harder to come by in this league.

โ€œWhen I get them Iโ€™m confident I will take them. I still want to hit the 20-goal mark as well, so I will definitely be working hard to get as many as possible.

โ€œObviously I want to score more goals. But having seven already is still a good return for this stage of the season.

โ€œWhen you hear managers like Barnsleyโ€™s Simon Davey talking about how he told his players specifically to mark me tightly, you can see that itโ€™s going to be more difficult for me this year,โ€ said Scotland.

โ€œBut I like the battle and it brings out the best of me.

โ€œI get one or two opportunities each game and I just have to take them. Itโ€™s hard though because everyone knows I am a goalscorer and defenders mark me much closer.

โ€œI always thought I would still get chances, though. Itโ€™s just that I knew they wouldnโ€™t come as frequently as they did last year.

โ€œWe all know our performance wasnโ€™t good enough against Barnsley.

โ€œBut we will be looking to put that right today and hopefully we will get the result we want.

โ€œAfter so many draws, itโ€™s a game we must win to get back towards the play-offs.โ€
