Ricketts spent a couple of seasons at Swansea City before leaving shortly after the play off final for Hull who are now enjoying themselves in the Premier League.

And having seen his new team mates fall to the Swans earlier this season in the Carling Cup, he is backing them to add another shock to a growing list when they head to Fulham on Tuesday for their 5th Round replay.

And should the Swans succeed they will get the chance to pit their wits against the biggest of all with Manchester United on March 7th the prize for the winners.

Speaking to Wales on Sunday, Ricketts said โ€œI watched the game with Fulham the other day and they did really well.

โ€œAnd they were so unlucky not to actually win the game after they hit a post and conceded a fluke goal.

โ€œBut they will go to Fulham and they wonโ€™t hold back because they will be full of confidence.

โ€œThey have the knowledge that if they play at their best they have a great chance of going through.

โ€œThey know it will be a battle but theyโ€™ve shown they play so well to their strengths and have been very successful with it.

โ€œPeople have talked about how Hull have come up through the leagues.

โ€œWell, Swansea have a few players who were there with me in League Two, and thereโ€™s no reason that they couldnโ€™t do the same if they keep playing as well as they do as a unit.

โ€œItโ€™s surprised me a little bit the way theyโ€™ve dominated games so much.

โ€œItโ€™s a tough league where it could have been difficult to utilise their passing game.

โ€œBut theyโ€™ve done it and done it well. Itโ€™s great to see and good for football that itโ€™s working.

โ€œHe (Garry Monk) was so unlucky with that but there was nothing he could do about it.

โ€œGarry will know that. Heโ€™s been outstanding and hopefully he can carry that through on Tuesday.โ€
