Evans will arrive at the Liberty Stadium tomorrow with his Sheffield United team mates looking to heap more frustration on the Swans who enter their 5th home league match of the season still looking for their first win.
And Williams says that he and his fellow defenders will have their work cut out dealing with a man who reminds him in style of Alan Shearer – the Premier League’s top goalscorer of all time.
Williams told the Western Mail “Ched is very strong, good in the air and he has got an amazing shot
“You can’t let him shoot because he has probably the hardest shot I have ever come across in the game.
“He is a willing runner, is quite fast and has good movement too. I think he is a bit like Alan Shearer.
“Time will tell if he can be as good as Shearer. But I think he has got the ability.
“He is a goal-scorer and, if he gets half a chance, he will bury it.
“Ched is brilliant at this level.
“He was very unlucky at Manchester City with all the changes they made there.
“He was playing a few games for them and getting some minutes.
“But now he has got himself a good move and I’m sure he will be very strong and finish the season with a few goals.
“I was a bit shocked that he came down to the Championship.
“But it’s a good move for him and it’s a team that will be at the right end of the table, looking to go back to the Premiership.
“I’m confident that I can stop Ched,” he said when asked about their time together with Wales.
“But obviously I’m not going to say how I intend to do it.
“I won’t be putting the boot in, just trying to get the better of him and outplay him.
“He is a very good player and it’s going to be tough against him.
“United will always be at the right end of the table. How it will go for them this season, I don’t know, but they are definitely a good team.
“The core of the team has been together for a long time and they come with a lot of confidence.
“They know their jobs, they know what they have to do and they know they will do it.
“They have that about them and we can only be envious of the way they have stuck together as a unit. They have kept the same principles year after year and it works for them.”
