Risdale was reacting to reports in yesterday’s newspapers that Cardiff fans could be banned from the Liberty fixture on November 7 due to the escalating cost of policing the game.

The paper claimed that talks had taken place already between the two sides over the potential ban – a claim denied by the Cardiff Chairman who told the Western Mail โ€œItโ€™s the first I have heard of it. I have had no contact with Swansea City on this issue whatsoever.

โ€œAs far as this club and I am concerned our supporters will be at the Liberty Stadium โ€“ just as they are at any other ground in the country.

โ€œWhat we all want is for the two clubs and the two sets of supporters to enjoy a football match in safety.

โ€œBut banning fans is not the answer. People will be banning the away team for turning up next!

โ€œAs far as Cardiff City is concerned the fixture will go ahead as it did three times last season โ€“ with away fans present.โ€
