The Swansea City midfielder was as happy as the rest of the squad that they had shown the character and conviction to bounce back from the disappointment of giving up their early two goal advantage.
And Britton said that the transformation came from a calm dressing room at half time where they went back to the original game plan – eventually getting their rewards with Darren Pratley’s winner.
Speaking to the Western Mail after the game, Britton said โThe gaffer is very passionate, and he urges us to show our own passion
โHe wants to win every ball, every tackle and every game.
โItโs great to see a manager like that and to have someone with his pedigree to lead us.
โHeโs done it in the game as a player and is a proven winner. He has the respect of the players because heโs been there and bought the T-shirt.
โAt 2-0 up after 20 minutes, we looked like we were cruising,โ said the 27-year-old.
โSo to concede two goals in quick succession was a blow. We could have caved in and let Cardiff take over.
โSo at half-time, we told ourselves to get back to playing football. We said, โLook, letโs get the ball down and get passing again. If we do that, weโll cause them trouble.'”
Britton also revealed that he and Jay Bothroyd had a laugh pre kick off regards the comments by the Cardiff man in the lead up to the game with Britton adding โWe were just laughing about it.
โJay just said that some comments had been made. He smiled and said that a couple of our players had bitten.
โIt was only banter, though. We took it well and just got on with it.โ
