The Swansea City striker scored his first goal since last March to earn the Swans a victory over Leicester on Saturday – a result that lifted them into 4th place in the Championship table.

And as well as his delight for his team mate, Dyer felt that the result was a huge one for the Swans pinpointing the importance of winning a game 1-0 despite maybe not playing at your best.

Dyer told the Western Mail โ€œIt was an important win for us against one of our playoff rivals

โ€œThey have been doing well this season and itโ€™s always going to be tough when you play teams in the top six.

โ€œObviously, after losing to them in the cup, it was a bit of revenge as well. But it was more important that we played well and stuck out a 1-0 win, which has been difficult for us.

โ€œAll the top teams have to hold on to 1-0 wins, even when they arenโ€™t playing well. I feel we have done that this season. Thatโ€™s the difference from last season.

โ€œIt mean a lot to Gorka and we are happy for him.

โ€œHe works hard in training and he always plays his heart out for the team when selected. โ€œItโ€™s good that he got his reward for that. As a striker you want and need goals to get confidence and now he has got that.โ€
