The Swansea City striker scored his first goal since last March to earn the Swans a victory over Leicester on Saturday – a result that lifted them into 4th place in the Championship table.
And as well as his delight for his team mate, Dyer felt that the result was a huge one for the Swans pinpointing the importance of winning a game 1-0 despite maybe not playing at your best.
Dyer told the Western Mail โIt was an important win for us against one of our playoff rivals
โThey have been doing well this season and itโs always going to be tough when you play teams in the top six.
โObviously, after losing to them in the cup, it was a bit of revenge as well. But it was more important that we played well and stuck out a 1-0 win, which has been difficult for us.
โAll the top teams have to hold on to 1-0 wins, even when they arenโt playing well. I feel we have done that this season. Thatโs the difference from last season.
โIt mean a lot to Gorka and we are happy for him.
โHe works hard in training and he always plays his heart out for the team when selected. โItโs good that he got his reward for that. As a striker you want and need goals to get confidence and now he has got that.โ
