The Swansea City captain was again a rock at the heart of the Swansea defence as they ended Cardiff’s winning streak and their unbeaten home record in the process.
Monk told the Western Mail “Cardiff have been battering teams and they are going to be right up there at the end of the season.
“I really thought we deserved it. The way we imposed ourselves was fantastic.
“Neither team could really create much in the first half, but in the second we really stepped up a gear.
“We said at half-time there was more to come and we created chances and limited them to almost nothing.
“I don’t think there are many teams who can match us when we play like that. We have to perform like that every week.”
