The Swansea City goalkeeper was powerless to stop Craig Bellamy’s 85th minute winner for Cardiff City that settled a nervy derby and lifted the visitors back above the Swans in the Championship table.

It was a goal that was deserved for the away side and De Vries handed them credit for getting it right on the day

โ€œItโ€™s a big blow because you are not just playing for yourself you are playing for many other people,โ€ he told the Western Mail

โ€œYou are playing for the people ofย Swansea, for pride and itโ€™s a massive three points.

โ€œWe couldnโ€™t be ourselves, we were not the dominant side we like to be but we have to learn from that.

โ€œIt was frustrating. We want to be a dominant side and thatโ€™s got to result in chances.

โ€œWe want to create chances because the more you create, the more likely you are to score one of them.

โ€œWe didnโ€™t do it enough and then you end up losing.

โ€œThey studied our game very well. Some teams cope better with our system than others and Cardiff did it well.

โ€œWe couldnโ€™t get our passes going enough but fair play to them.

โ€œWe didnโ€™t see much of Bellamy all game, I thought Angel (Rangel) played him very well but you can see his quality and how he can decide a match.โ€
