The Nottingham Forest manager will see his side pit their wits against the best home record in the Championship this evening when they take on Swansea City in the second leg of the Championship play off semi finals.
And despite their tag as undertogs, Davies wants his side to come here and give their all.
"They have to make sure that they give their all, that they produce the kind of performance they are capable of." he told the Nottingham Evening Post
"Look at the clubs who would love to be in this position. We have put ourselves in a wonderful position. They are 90 minutes away from Wembley.
"They are 90 minutes away from putting themselves one step away from the Premier League.
"They could have a 50/50 chance of claiming a £100m prize. The fans have done their bit. Now it is down to the players.
"The players have to step over the white line and take the responsibility. They have to take this with both hands; they have to deliver what is necessary.
"But we are extremely optimistic. There is a wonderful spirit here. This chance might never happen again for some of these players, so they have to grab this with both hands.
"It will be another very, very tight game. But we are 90 minutes away from a Wembley final," he said.
"They have to turn up and do what is required when it comes to work-rate, attitude and application.
"They have already picked up results at important times. Now they have to do it again.
"They might not get their hands on the £100m prize that comes with promotion, but it would be reflected into their salaries – we all know the huge rewards that come with Premier League football.
"There will be jittery nerves. We have seen four free-flowing teams produce two 0-0 games but we are optimistic."
