After a third away point of the season at Newcastle, Joe Allen remains confident that the first away win is coming – and could arrive at Everton on Wednesday

Allen said after Saturday’s 0-0 drawย โ€œWeโ€™re getting more and more confident on the road and weโ€™re looking forward to Wednesdayโ€™s game to see if we can get that first away win

โ€œIt would get the monkey off our back, but itโ€™s not something that overly bothering us โ€“ weโ€™re confident it will happen.

โ€œWe just have to make sure we work 100% to try and achieve that and show composure and bravery to go to these places, play our football and get results.

โ€œItโ€™s difficult to go away and just think about a win because you can lose a little bit of focus from the fact youโ€™re playing at a Premier League team thatโ€™s been there for years. We know itโ€™s going to be another tough game but weโ€™ve got a great team and some great players here that are capable of going to these places and getting results.

โ€œYou can speak about so many grounds that will be tough to travel to this season and Goodison Park is another one,โ€ said Allen, who returned to the Swansโ€™ starting line-up on Saturday following a one-game ban.

โ€œWeโ€™ll have to show resolve at in some parts of the game, Iโ€™m sure, then weโ€™ll have to go up the other end, create some chances and score some goals.

โ€œThereโ€™s no reason why we canโ€™t go to places like that and get results.

โ€œItโ€™s a shame we havenโ€™t got that victory before now but there have been some positive performances and itโ€™s important to remember that.

โ€œWeโ€™ve shown how far weโ€™ve come. We had to defend for our lives and we were prepared to do that.

โ€œWe would do anything to pick up point.

โ€œAway from home has been a bit of a focus recently. We havenโ€™t had that away victory but weโ€™ve been to Liverpool and kept a clean sheet and weโ€™ve come to St Jamesโ€™ Park and done the same there.

โ€œTo not be at our best and still pick up a point away from home in Newcastle is no disgrace.โ€
