Scott Sinclair has set his sights on a place in Fabio Capello’s England squad with the Euro 2012 tournament just around the corner

Sinclair told the Western Mail โ€œThe England senior squad is definitely the next step for me.

โ€œIโ€™m not surprised at all that Iโ€™m not on the Olympic shortlist because I want to get in the squad for the Euros.

โ€œI have to take it as a positive that they must be thinking of me for the Euros rather than the Olympics.

โ€œIf I can be a late runner for the Euros then Iโ€™ll be happy.

โ€œItโ€™s nice to see the England manager down here, watching the English lads in team.

โ€œItโ€™s great for us because if we can keep performing then we can get the call.

โ€œNath, Danny and myself have all scored so hopefully the manager can go back and we can get a look in.

โ€œIโ€™m always learning and the gaffer is always helping me. The next step for me is to move on and push to play at international level.

โ€œBut itโ€™s up to me to keep performing.

โ€œI feel confident I will always put the ball away,โ€ said Sinclair, the Swansโ€™ top scorer last season with 27.

โ€œThe key is to just relax. I have a light run-up to the ball and I pick my spot. I donโ€™t have a particular method.

โ€œThe (Arsenal) keeper was quite close, but I managed to get the ball tucked into the side netting, so it would be difficult for any keeper to save.

โ€œI practise every day. I do extra shooting after every training session to work on my finishing.

โ€œPenalties are part of that, although Michel (Vorm) saves a few of my penalties.

โ€œI have always taken penalties even, when I was really young. But when you go to different teams you have to wait as you are down the pecking order.

โ€œWhen I came to Swansea I wasnโ€™t the first taker straight away.

โ€œI had to wait my turn, but now when we get penalties, I step up.

โ€œI only miss in training. Hopefully that can continue. If it does, Iโ€™ll be happy”
