Jenkins was speaking on the club’s official review of last season DVD that will go on sale in the club shop tomorrow and look back over what was an incredible nine months for the Swans.
Led by rookie manager Garry Monk, they upset the apple cart on Day 1 when they triumphed 2-1 at Old Trafford and we went onto do the league double over both United and Arsenal, only the third team in Premier League history to do that in the same season.
And whilst it wasn’t quite the highest place that the Swans have ever achieved – John Toshack’s side finished 6th in the top flight in 1982 – it was still enough for Jenkins to hail the season as the best ever.
He said รขโฌลWhen youรขโฌโขre competing in this division against big clubs, for us to be in the top ten all year and finish eighth comfortably shows that weรขโฌโขve gone to a new level.
