The Swansea City Under-23’s side kicked off a busy week yesterday with a 1-0 win over top scoring Sheffield United, a win that made it just one defeat in nine for the youngsters who continue to impress.

It was the first game of three in a week for Kris O’Leary’s team who also face Colchester on Friday before closing their season against Sheffield Wednesday next Monday but they do it in good form thanks to an impressive win that made it six games won this season.

The Swans claimed a third consecutive clean sheet as a fantastic defensive display shut out the divisionโ€™s overall top scorers at Chesterfieldโ€™s Technique Stadium.

O’Leary, as you can imagine, was delighted with the win as he explained via the club’s official website after the gameย โ€œSheffield United are top scorers in the North and South, so itโ€™s big positive for us to get another clean sheet.

โ€œThey also won their division and are a strong side, so it was a different challenge for the boys.

โ€œWeโ€™ve always had to adapt at Swansea with the way we play, and keeping the ball away from the opposition.

โ€œOf course, we want to play football and win games, and sometimes you come up against different opposition with different styles, and thatโ€™s such a good way to learn for these players.

โ€œIt was a very pleasing afternoon, and now we move quickly onto our next game.โ€
