The name of Lawrence Shankland is another one to add to a potential list of targets for the Swans with the Daily Record reporting that Russell Martin could carry forward the interest that he had in the player whilst at MK Dons.

The paper reports that Martin was showing an interest in signing the player but was restricted by the funds available to him in his old job.

The Record states that there is interest from abroad but – at ยฃ300,000 – it was suggested it falls “well short” of their valuation of the Scotland international.

Dundee United owner Mark Ogren is due to fly into Scotland from America but isnโ€™t interested in selling at a bargain basement price even thoughย Shankland is in the final year of his contract.

Shankland missed out on a place in the squad for Euro 2020 after an underwhelming first full season in the Scottish Premiership, has been in talks about extending his United deal.

This one feels nothing more than a rumour fuelled by a manager changing jobs although it is to be expected that transfer targets for a manager can tie in with new clubs so we watch and see but file it – for now – under not convinced!

Been watching the Swans since the very late 1970s and running the Planet Swans website (in all its current and previous guises since the summer of 2001 As it stood JackArmy.net was right at the forefront of some of the activity against Tony Petty back in 2001, breaking many of the stories of the day as fans stood against the actions where the local media failed. Was involved with the Swans Supporters Trust from 2005, for the large part as Chairman before standing down in the summer of 2020.
