Reports this morning say that the Swans will secure the free transfer signing of released Bristol City winger Jamie Paterson.

The deal – reported by Football Insider – is suggested to be agreed in principle with the wording being “the terms of the deal have been agreed and all parties are confident it will be completed soon.

Earlier this summer Paterson spent some time at Middlesbrough but there was no progress further than that and now it seems that he may be one of Russell Martin’s early signings at the Swans.

Paterson is said to be capable of playing on either flank of even in a withdrawn centre forward role.ย  ย In 156 appearances at Bristol City he scored 26 goals and assisted 21 times.ย  Four goals last season were scored before he missed the end of the campaign through injury.

A versatile forward, Paterson is capable of playing on either flank or in a withdrawn centre-forward role.

He joined Bristol City from Walsall in 2016.
