It all looked so good for the Swans when Joel Piroe scored the first goal of the afternoon at Deepdale today but defensive lapses, misplaced passes led to an afternoon of being second best and heading into the first international break of the season on the back of a third defeat in five league games.

Piroe’s goal was cancelled out a minute later by sloppy defending, a lack of concentration on the half hour and a minute of madness by Steven Benda in the second half.ย  ย The break will no doubt come at a good time for Russell Martin who has a busy few days ahead of him before the transfer window closes and that will be followed by some key work that he needs to do with his side ahead of the return to league action in two weeks.
