Morgan Whittaker looked set to join Lincoln City during the summer transfer window but it never moved to a completed deal at the very last moment.

Since than – a Carabao Cup hat-trick apart – chances have been very limited for the striker at Swansea and he looks certain to be making a move in January almost certainly on loan although the possibility of a permanent deal should not be completely dismissed.

This has alerted Lincoln again to the possibility of completing the transfer that they missed out on when unable to complete a loan deal back in August.

Football League World is reporting Lincoln’s interest and quoting Michael Appleton as saying, when asked about a Whittaker moveย โ€œWe will if we think thereโ€™s an opportunity for it to happen.

โ€œBut, at the same time, weโ€™re not going to put ourselves in a position where we might lose out.โ€

Whittaker did not travel to Barnsley last night with the Swans – a game that we won 2-0.
