The Swans have another competitor for their interest in Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun with Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest reported as joining the list of clubs showing an interest in a loan deal in January.

The interest was confirmed by Telegraph reporter John Percy yesterday when he listed Balogun as one of three players being discussed by the hierarchy at the City Ground with Keinan Davis at Aston Villa and Adam Idah also discussed but the latter seemingly dismissed.

The Swans were first linked with Balogun back in January of course under the stewardship of Steve Cooper.

The Swans were linked with a move for Balogun last month with the striker admitting he was open to a new challenge which could include a move away from the Emirates on loan.

“I do feel like I am ready for a new challenge but I am not sure what that might be, it might be a loan or if I am needed at Arsenal then I am here and the gaffer knows that.

“I am definitely open to a new challenge but it is something that whatever that challenge is I will be ready.

“I know the potential I could have and that I need to achieve is massive. I haven’t achieved it yet. What I see now I would just describe as glimpses, things that need to be worked on and can be improved.”
