Russell Martin says he is saddened by the situation we are all currently watching in Ukraine at the moment and hopes that anything we can do in this country to support their people will be done.

The Swans boss was another football manager who faced questions about the situation when taking about upcoming fixtures and it is clear that the Swans boss feels the same about the horror we have watched unfold as the rest of us.

Football has been one of many sports standing in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and the Swans boss said “It puts everything into perspective.

“I am really saddened by it and I feel sorry for the people of Ukraine and other countries who have been at war for a long time.

“War on any level is wrong and it is tough to accept and look at and feels a little closer to home because it us Ukraine.

“I hope that this finds a way to resolve itself very quickly ad it is time for leaders of nations to show strength and together ness and show that the safety of people is the most important.

“If we can help in any way we should do it as a nation.”
