Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe has denied that his side are looking at a move for Notts County hotshot Macaulay Langstaff after the Lilywhites and Bristol City were linked along with the Swans last week.

Langstaff is expected to attract much interest in January after a spectacular season to date that has seen him strike 19 goals in 21 appearances for Notts County who are bidding for a return to the football league.ย  They currently sit top of the National League, one point ahead of Wrexham after just 1 defeat in those 21 games.

The forward has earned himself a reputation as the โ€˜Non-League Haalandโ€™ after hitting a stunning patch of goalscoring form following his summer move to Meadow Lane. The Teesside-born frontman netted 32 goals in a all competitions last season to help Gateshead to promotion into the National League.

Speaking recently about the speculation, Countyโ€™s co-owner Alexander Reedtz said: โ€œWe are expecting to finish the season with the players we currently have. He is not for sale, but in football you can never rule out anything if there is an extraordinary offer, but we are not expecting to sell anyone this January.โ€

Russell Martin has not commented on the speculation.
