Fin Stevens is set to see his loan spell at Swansea City cut short as Brentford are set to exercise the recall option in the loan deal and take him back to West London.

It is reported by West London Sport that the Bees want to see the player return to give them more options at right back with Aaron Hickey still recovering from an ankle problem while Kristoffer Ajer, who can operate in that position as well as in central defence, has not yet returned from a knee issue.

Stevens loan spell in SA1 has not been successful with the defender having made just five substitute appearances – the last being in a 3-2 win over Reading back in October.ย  ย This makes the recall hardly a surprise given the lack of football and the need for the Bees to have their own options at right back.

Stevens is another one of those loan deals that has made little sense.ย  ย We need options at right back but clearly Martin things Stevens is not that option for him so he can have little complaint about the return assuming the reports are correct.
