Swansea City have confirmed the signing of defender Kristian Pedersen on a two year contract with the official confirmation citing it as an undisclosed fee.

Pedersen was first linked on these pages back at the end of July and whilst the deal appeared to have seemingly gone cold as the window went on it now transpires that discussions were very much alive and he becomes the first confirmed (of several) signings now expected on deadline day.

Pedersen spent four years at St. Andrews where the Dane was a regular in the Blues side, making 161 appearances for the club in total, and even carrying a slight goal threat, with nine goals and seven assists to his name during those matches.

Last summer though he departed the Midlands and signed for Bundesliga side FC Koln but he made just six appearances last season for the club although it was a season hampered by injury which curtailed his time following the resumption after the World Cup break.

Speaking vis the official site on his signing, the Dane saidย โ€œI had a really good chat with the manager.

โ€œHe told me about the way that he wants to play, and about the playing style and I feel like it really suits me.

โ€œThat was the main factor in my decision to come here and I think it is a great match.”
