David Wagner was left to reflect on his Norwich City’s 2-2 draw with the Swans yesterday with the belief that his side should have picked up all three points in the fixture – three points that would have guaranteed their play-off position.

That said the point should be enough to see them back at Carrow Road in a few weeks but Wagner felt that had his team been more ruthless and clinical in front of goal then they wouldn’t have to work through the last week’s permutations to start planning the play-off campaign.

The Canaries managed twenty-seven shots, eight of which were on target during the game but needed a world class goal from Sara and a defensive lapse from a strong Swansea defence to breach Carl Rushworth’s goal before the conceding of a second half penalty earned the Swans a point.

Both sides can claim to have had chances to win the game in what was an entertaining ninety minutes between two sides who were showing full signs of wanting to win the game.

“I think it was a totally different draw compared to the draw which we’ve seen a week ago; this was a very good performance. The players have put out a proper shift, played wonderful football and created unbelievable opportunities,” Wagner said.

“We defended with a high line and were on the front foot. We were super sharp, super aggressive, but unfortunately, we were not ruthless and not clinical.

“This is the only thing where we have to hold up our hands. We should have done better and this is why we only draw this game.

“We take this point now. I think we are unbeaten at home since the start of the year, which is just great.

“Unfortunately, the last home game, we would love to win, but sometimes we don’t what get what we deserve and performance-wise we for sure deserved to win.

“This league is like that, though, isn’t it? We’ve seen results; last night Leeds lost and today West Brom have lost. You don’t just get given results.

“I’ve seen the other results, you see, it’s not easy to win or even to collect a point in the Championship, especially at this stage of the season, big credit to my players, they are very consistently collecting points and performing as well, and the reward is that they are in the table where they are at the minute.

“We know at the moment the job isn’t done, but we are ready for the last game.”

They were faster and quicker in moving the ball than we were though and strong in attack, that said it was a game that we would have won on another day.
Bit concerned about Darling as he seems to suffer from these niggling injuries, that's him probably out of next weeks game now as well.
