As reported yesterday, an increased bid for winger Eom Ji-sung now looks as if it has been enough to secure the services of the striker who comes on the recommendation of another former Swan in Ki Sung-yueng.

It has been speculated that the former Swans midfielder was asked for his opinion by his former employer and gave the Swans seemingly new player a glowing reference, certainly enough to persuade us to part with a seven figure sum to secure his services.

Sports Seoul were reporting this morning that the transfer had been agreed and whilst the initial fee is suggested to be โ‚ฌ1.2m there is also believed to be some sell on clauses within the deal that will see Gwangju gain a percentage of any future deal.

As reported yesterday,ย Gwangju are currently in some financial difficulties that could lead to dire repercussions for the club โ€“ just a few weeks ago they were accused of overstating their expected revenue and misrepresenting player transfer fees meaning they violated standards set by the leagueโ€™s finance committee to ensure greater stability implemented this year.ย  ย This is one of the factors that is believed to have resulted them being prepared to make the sale mid-season with the Swans very much seeing Eom as part of their plans for the first team this coming season.

Been watching the Swans since the very late 1970s and running the Planet Swans website (in all its current and previous guises since the summer of 2001 As it stood JackArmy.net was right at the forefront of some of the activity against Tony Petty back in 2001, breaking many of the stories of the day as fans stood against the actions where the local media failed. Was involved with the Swans Supporters Trust from 2005, for the large part as Chairman before standing down in the summer of 2020.

Whereโ€™s his stats and the obligatory YouTube highlights reel?

Heโ€™s going to be absolutely terrible and the best striker ever before a ball is kicked, amongst our mad fan base,

Seems predominantly right footed even though he plays on the left.
Good pace and the kind of close control that is very good at drawing and winning fouls in dangerous positions.
