I guess there are not too many Swansea City fans who placed money at the start of the season on Ferrie Bodde being the top goalscorer at the club.

But almost a quarter of the way into the season and the Dutch midfielder has five goals to his name and shows no sign of stopping the goalscoring fun.

Goals against Forest, Sheffield Wednesday, Burnley, Preston and Ipswich have taken his tally to a handful already and well on the way to beat last season’s tally of seven as the Swans won the League One title.

Speaking to the Western Mail, the summer target for Derby said โ€œIโ€™m happy that I scored, but it doesnโ€™t matter who is on the end of it,

โ€œIf itโ€™s somebody else, no problem. As a midfielder, youโ€™ve still got to score goals, so obviously Iโ€™m pleased.

โ€œBut if Iโ€™d scored no goals and we were top of the league, Iโ€™d still be very happy. And at Ipswich, the main thing was that after Iโ€™d scored, we started to play better.

โ€œThe opportunity was there to take all three points, and we can feel unlucky that we didnโ€™t,โ€ he said.

โ€œIpswich didnโ€™t know what to do with us โ€“ I could see it on their faces.

โ€œBefore the goal went in, we felt strong. They gambled in the last 10 minutes and it paid off, but thatโ€™s football.

โ€œBut if we play like we did in the second half, we will win a lot of games.

โ€œWe will look at QPR as the chance to get another three points,โ€ said Bodde.

โ€œWe know what we want from these two games โ€“ as many points as possible.

โ€œTwo wins and a draw is good form and I hope we can keep it up.โ€
