The midfielder who played in the Carling Cup tie at the Liberty looks set to be an absentee when the two sides renew rivalries once again in the first league clash of the season in 12 days time.

Ledley injured his finger as Cardiff beat Crystal Palace on the weekend and is now expected to be out for up to four weeks.

And he told the Western Mail of his despair as he may miss out on the first league clash for almost 10 years.

โ€œIโ€™d be gutted if I miss that one against Swansea, that is the fixture Iโ€™ve been looking forward to,โ€ he said

โ€œItโ€™s one game I want to play in after losing to them in the Carling Cup this season. I just hope they can sort something out to protect that part of the hand for me and I can just get on with it.โ€

โ€œI didnโ€™t even know that I broke it until afterwards when they looked at it in more detail,โ€ said Ledley, who will have a screw inserted in the damaged finger. โ€œThis is my sort of luck, just when things are looking a bit brighter this goes and happens.โ€
