The Swansea City goalkeeper said that he thought the effort had crossed the line for a goal which would have given the home side the victory that they wanted.

But Lee Mason ruled that there was no goal and the Swans earned a third consecutive draw in the league to maintain their 9th placed position in the league.

Speaking to the Western Mail, De Vries said โ€œI have to be honest, I thought it had crossed the line

โ€œI havenโ€™t seen it back and I certainly didnโ€™t know it for sure but my instinct at the time was that it did.

โ€œIt was a messy one because I think it touched Angel Rangel, touched me, went through the legs of Ashley Williams and I think it crossed.

โ€œBut I certainly didnโ€™t know for sure because I was on the line before Ash got there and in a split second the ball was gone.

โ€œWho knows, but we can have a bit of luck in that respect when you look at some of the goals that have gone against us โ€“ even the penalty that Cardiff had last week. We deserved this clean sheet.

โ€œItโ€™s part of the job of making saves and of course itโ€™s nice to be back from quite a nasty injury,โ€ he said. โ€œIt was only my third game back since it happened but I feel Iโ€™m getting more confidence with every game I play.

โ€œThe first one definitely came off Tatey with his first touch! It was a nasty one because those free-kicks are so hard to judge when they whip them in and all you can do is be ready to make a reaction save should anyone get a touch.

โ€œNow Iโ€™m looking forward to getting rid of the mask on Tuesday โ€“ I donโ€™t think itโ€™s lucky because Iโ€™m not superstitious but I will keep it as a memento!โ€
