Four consecutive draws have dropped Swansea City down the table a little but they have the chance to correct that a little this afternoon when Sheffield United arrive at the Liberty.
Tuesday’s fight back from a two goal defecit to Barnsley was a plus point in that run that has seen them draw with Coventry, Cardiff, Bristol City as well as the Tykes on Tuesday night.
And Butler believes that the Swans have passed up the chance to win all four games that they have drawn as he told the Western Mail “I look at our current run as us dropping points, especially when you think we should have won most of them.
“The positions we have been in, it’s quite hard to take that we only have four draws from them.
“Four points from all the work we have put in doesn’t reflect the performances we have produced.
“It’s been disappointing and the boys feel we really should have won the majority of those games. But, if we keep creating the chances we will turn it around.
“We have drawn too many games, but that has to change sooner or later,” he said.
“You always look back at games and wonder why we haven’t got three points.
“But, with this league being so tight, it only takes a couple of wins to get you in the play-offs.
“If we had the eight points we have dropped we would be third or fourth and things would look a lot better.
“It’s just frustrating for us that we haven’t closed games out.”
Butler was the hero the last time the two sides met – the then League One Swans triumped at their Premiership hosts 3-0 back in January 2007 with Butler grabbing the opening two goals “It was a real shock when we beat them that day,” he said. “You always remember games like that.
“But obviously that is in the past now and I’m just looking for another great game.”
