“It’s hard to explain how we drew that game, but it was a big blow to drop two points like that,” conceded Martinez.
“Our players didn’t deserve that because our performance against an ex-Premier League team was something to be proud of.
“It’s painful to drop points like that but we’re going to learn from it.
“The reason we dropped the two points is down to the lack of know-how and lack of experience at this level.
“If there is fault in our performance it’s that we didn’t kill the game off.
“Some lessons are harsh and I don’t think you’ll get a more cruel lesson than that.”
