Histon manager Steve Fallon has predicted a tough test at home to Swansea City and believes that Roberto Martinez’s side will be hard to beat.
So far in this FA Cup campaign, the Cambridgeshire club have turned into giant killers taking the scalps of Swindon Town and Leeds United before drawing the Swans in the third round but as in those games the 52 year old is hoping for a repeat performance and result as he told the Cambridge news ,he said โHopefully so its a big big ask , at this moment we are very confident we are going to be working hard to make sure we put in a good performance and if we put in a good performance we know Swansea will have to play well to beat us and that’s the key to it we want to come out there done ourselves justice if that’s the case then the same as Swindon and Leeds that could be good enough.โ
Relishing the prospect of facing league opposition for the third time it has come as a huge bonus for the Stutes Squad as Fallon alluded too, he said โAll the players are looking forward to this game and going out there again its a little bit of a relief from the pressures of the conference., the FA Cup is a nice little bonus for the players that they can go out there and show off their skills to everybody.โ
However Fallon is insistent that Swansea will not have it all their own way and the former Cambridge City player is plotting the Swans downfall. He added โA lot of people will be expecting for us to get something from the game myself and John (Baldwin Histon Chairman) included in that. Its a big game for us they are a very good side, very difficult to beat the knock it about maybe as Leeds potentially did, so we have to cope with that and again put pressure on them ourselves.โ
Respecting Saturday’s opponents, Fallon has praised the Swans squad ahead of the game and has heralded the tie as a good test for his players as he outlined โ I think it will be they have some technically gifted players and they come up last year and won their league so they have a confidence and swagger about them and have done well in the league their in and not quite turning these performances into wins but they are very difficult to beat and strong all over the park its going to be a good test for us we have to be at our best.โ
