The Swansea City midfielder has found himself in a central role in recent games with Nathan Dyer, Tom Butler and Cedric Van Der Gun all being used in the wide positions.

And to cap that with his first competitive goal for the Swans and you have a very happy midfielder on your hands at this current moment in time.

Gower told the Western Mail โ€œIf youโ€™re playing youโ€™ve got to be happy and I donโ€™t care if I play right-back

โ€œIโ€™m delighted to be in the team, but I get a lot more of the ball in that position.

โ€œYouโ€™ve got to have greater discipline because youโ€™ve got to track runners and thereโ€™s a lot more positional play.

โ€œYou can never switch off and itโ€™s a bit more difficult in that sense.

โ€œBut I love it because I feel a lot more involved in the game and can get on the ball more.

โ€œThereโ€™s a good mixture in there with the way Leon (Britton) breaks it up and the energy of Prats (Darren Pratley).

โ€œI like to think I complement them with my quality on the ball, find some passes and link the play up.

โ€œWeโ€™re dominating games possession-wise and itโ€™s working well at the moment.

โ€œI feel a lot more confident,โ€ he said. โ€œThe goal was a long time coming but I can move on now.

โ€œIt would be nice to get a few more, but I feel my form has come together in the last few weeks and Iโ€™m playing the way I should. The goal has helped my confidence and I feel I can push on from there.

โ€œItโ€™s the old cliche, but once you get one or two goals in I think weโ€™ll score a few more,โ€ he said.

โ€œWeโ€™ve got enough in the tank to know the goals will come, weโ€™ve got players who can score and we look dangerous from set-pieces, so I think the system does work.

โ€œThe only thing wrong with the actual performance on Saturday is that there wasnโ€™t a goal at the end of it.

โ€œWe played some good stuff and kept knocking on the door but it didnโ€™t just happen for us.

โ€œI donโ€™t know if we were hesitant in front of goal but if you are defenders pounce on you at this level.

โ€œWeโ€™re little more than one win away from the play-offs so thereโ€™s everything to play for,โ€ said Gower, explaining confidence is high in the Swans camp after an eight-game unbeaten run.

โ€œThis is a division where anyone can beat anyone, so if you go eight games without losing you are doing something right.

โ€œWeโ€™ve improved from early on in the campaign when we were leaking goals and losing points.

โ€œNow weโ€™re disappointed when we donโ€™t win games so weโ€™re going in the right direction.

โ€œEvery team is built from a good defence and weโ€™ve conceded the least amount of goals in the division.

โ€œThe boys at the back have been terrific, hopefully we can get a few goals and it will snowball from there.โ€
