Whilst the Championship is seen as the most competitive league at the moment, Warnock believes that there are eight teams who can class themselves as above the rest and he includes the Swans – along with his own QPR – as teams within that eight.

Speaking to the Western Mail after he left the Liberty with a point thanks to Tuesday’s 0-0 draw, Warnock said โ€œWe are where we are

โ€œThere are eight teams above the rest and, going into the game on Tuesday, we could have quite easily been fourth Swansea could have been top โ€“ thatโ€™s the league. But weโ€™re a quarter of the way through now and itโ€™s great to have a team that can go anywhere and win โ€“ and Iโ€™m sure Brendan feels the same.

โ€œSwansea is a great place and we saw two good teams in a good advert for the game โ€“ they wonโ€™t play many better than us down here and our lads knew we were in a real game.

โ€œThe way they play at home and the way their fans get hostile and get behind them, itโ€™s a great place and with some good players.

โ€œI thought Swansea were a good side when Paulo Sousa was here

โ€œBut Brendanโ€™s a good young manager and like any young manager you learn from experience. Heโ€™s made some bad decisions in his career but you learn from mistakes and Swansea will get the benefit from that.โ€
