Sinclair’s fantastic form for the Swans this season was finally rewarded when he received his Under-21 call this week and he could play against Germany on Tuesday.

Sinclair has scored 11 goals since a move from Stamford Bridge in the summer and that was enough to persuade Stuart Pearce to make the call to the Liberty Stadium.

โ€œIโ€™m very happy. Itโ€™s really nice to get a call-up for the way I am playing and hopefully I can keep producing,โ€ Sinclair told the Western Mail

โ€œIโ€™ve kept my head down and kept working as hard as I can.

โ€œThe manager believes in me and I am playing week in, week out so I am delighted to finally get the call-up.

โ€œThis is my first time with the U21s, so it will be a different experience, a different challenge.

โ€œHopefully I can go in there and perform.

โ€œAny game for England is a great honour and I am looking forward to it.”

Brendan Rodgers was equally delighted for Sinclair and he added โ€œHeโ€™s done very well and it will be a great boost to his confidence.

โ€œHis performances have warranted a place as one of the top English players at U21 level.

โ€œThereโ€™s some terrific players at that level. He will be training alongside some really good players.

โ€œItโ€™s a great reward for him and the football club as a whole and something he really wanted to get.

โ€œItโ€™s a wonderful achievement for him and I am delighted.โ€
