The Swansea City manager was speaking at the end of a week that saw Allen linked with the Premier League move with some papers claiming that the Hammers had already been in touch to sound out about a move in January.

But Rodgers says that nothing along those lines has happened and believes that Swansea are the perfect club for Joe at the moment.

โ€œWeโ€™ve heard nothing at all from West Ham and I get on with the manager there well,โ€ Brendan told Wales on Sunday.

โ€œBut Iโ€™ve got no worries about Joe. He will be a top talent and at this moment there is lots of growth and lots of progress.

โ€œThis is now his first run in the team and he has grabbed it with both hands and is doing well. Long may it continue.

โ€œSwansea is perfect for him. At 20 years old he has a manager who believes in him.

โ€œI have a lot of faith in his ability and he has demonstrated that on the field and he is one of a top band of young Welsh players who can play at the highest level.

โ€œHe is exactly the same as Scott, they need a platform to play and there is no greater place for them to play at this moment than here at Swansea City.

โ€œHe is doing very well at a club that loves him, with supporters who have really taken to him.

โ€œHe knows he has got to learn, but I see him as a player, along with the others, who can take us into the top flight.โ€
