The Swansea City captain was as disappointed as anyone to see his side defeated at the weekend especially when a point would have lifted them into the automatic promotion places for Christmas.

And he has called for improvements in the coming games as the promotion race continues to hot up.

โ€œIt was a poor performance from us, we controlled the first half without really creating much. To be done by a poor goal like that โ€“ a long ball through the middle โ€“is bitterly disappointing.” he told the Western Mail

โ€œWe were probably too comfortable on the ball and we lost concentration when we lost the ball. Weโ€™ve all got to step up to the plate because it simply wasnโ€™t good enough.

โ€œEveryone has to do their jobs and concentrate for 90 minutes.

โ€œWeโ€™ve set such high standards and when we dip below them everyone is disappointed.

โ€œForget about talking about going second, third or play-offs, youโ€™ve got to get the performance right first and back to the standards weโ€™ve set.

โ€œThe last couple of games our performances havenโ€™t been where they should be.

โ€œWe have to improve fast and raise ourselves ready for a massive match at QPR.

โ€œSome people will say that we have done well so far to be in fourth place, but we always want more as players, management and a club.

โ€œWhy should we settle with what weโ€™ve got? We want more.

โ€œThereโ€™s no crisis, no problems โ€“ weโ€™ve just got to forget everything else and get back to basics and what we are good at.

โ€œWeโ€™ve got great characters and players in the dressing room.

โ€œYes we are disappointed, but weโ€™ve got a great squad with plenty of quality and weโ€™ll bounce back โ€“ and what better place to do it than at the leaders QPR.”
