Britton made his prediction despite helping his Sheffield United team mates to a victory on Saturday – the Swans first league defeat on the road for more than three months.

But he believes that the Swans can stay at the top end of the table and told the Western Mail โ€œSwansea are capable of staying up at the top end of the league with the squad theyโ€™ve got and the quality and characters in the team

โ€œThey will be disappointed with the result, but Iโ€™m sure they will bounce back and come the end of season theyโ€™ll be there or thereabouts in the top two or play-offs.

โ€œIt was a strange day playing against my former team-mates and club.

โ€œIโ€™ve got some good mates here and nice to see them.

โ€œIt was even stranger on the training ground with everyone talking about Swansea as the opposition because Iโ€™ve never played against a former club before.

โ€œBut the situation we are in we needed the points more than Swansea. We looked like we would be going in at 0-0 at half-time and then the goal came out of nowhere. It was a good time to score.

โ€œThey are a more attacking side this season and press higher up the pitch. Under Paulo Sousa last season we sat back a lot more and let teams come on to us. This year the wide men and forwards are closing down higher up the pitch and making it difficult for the opposition.

โ€œTheyโ€™ve also got a bit more of a cutting edge at the top end. While it didnโ€™t show as much against us, it has shown in the results theyโ€™ve had this season and their league position.

โ€œScott Sinclair was a big danger throughout the game and heโ€™s got that cutting edge. He faced the full-back up, cut inside and got a few shots off to force some saves.โ€
