The Swansea City manager was of course disappointed that Cardiff City had triumphed at the Liberty but in the same way he was refusing to dwell on the defeat and knows he still has a real chance of history at the club.
Brendan told the Western Mail “My interest is in ourselves to recover well and get back to winning ways.
“We’ve got 16 games to go – 16 cup finals –and we’ll look to regroup during the week.
“This game has come down to one individual piece of quality and it didn’t go our way.
“But hopefully we’ll have plenty of good days in the big games to come.
“Cardiff probably edged it on chances but as it went on more and more it looked as if it was only going to a matter of time before we scored.
“I felt we were getting there with some good bits of play and Scott Sinclair was a real threat as the game went on.
“We got him through some times and looked to get that final ball. It looked as if it was coming.
“We were starting to find that space in the second half and cause them problems but what can you do against a goal like that?”
