Danny Graham was delighted to open his Swans account with the winner against Real Betis on Saturday

Graham scored the only goal of the game in the second half to give the Swans victory against their La Liga opponents and send them into the Premier League season with the perfect confidence booster.

The Swans travel to Manchester City next Monday night for their first league fixture of the campaign and Graham said “It’s a massive opener against Manchester City away, live on Sky, and we’re all looking forward to it now. We can’t wait to get going

“We expect one of the toughest games of the season. They’ve got world-class players and international stars, so it’s going to be tough.

“We’re going to go there and give a good account of ourselves I’m sure.

“I think we can get a result. We’re footballers and we want to win as many games as we can.

“We know it’s not possible to win every game, but we want to be competitive in every match.

“They are a team of megastars but the game’s not played on paper. They’re human beings and everyone is beatable.”

And on the subject of his first goal: “I’m delighted,” he added. “It’s nice to get off the mark, don’t get me wrong, but at this stage of the season it’s about getting that match fitness ready for the big opener next week.

“Pre-season’s all about getting that match fitness and sharpness and it’s coming along nicely.

“Everyone is buzzing, the training is sharp and we’ve had two good tests with Celtic and Real Betis.

“To win those games gives everyone a massive confidence boost and we’re looking forward to training this week.”
