The same agent of course that has barely been mentioned since as the Swans went on their biggest ever spending spree and shattered their transfer record into the process. The same agent that has barely uttered a word as the Swans progress through Europe and deliver the manager just about every target he wanted this summer.

The Mirror reports: Michael Laudrup and Gus Poyet are among a list of managers drawn up by Portuguese club Benfica.

They handed boss Jorge Jesus a new two-year contract in the summer, despite a disastrous run that saw them lose two cup finals and miss out on the league title. But sources close to Benfica claim ร‚ยญcontingency plans have been ร‚ยญdiscussed if Jesus cannot turnaround last seasonรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs collapse.

And that in itself is just a wonderful article as they have a shortlist of managers who they want to replace the manager who they haven’t sacked yet but have just given a new two year contract. Hmm, something doesn’t seem quite right with that as a story to start with. It also goes onto say that Gus Poyet though is favourite to replace Alan Pardew at Newcastle who has yet to lose his job as well.

SO just to clarify Michael Laudrup and Gus Poyet are on a shortlist to replace a manager not yet sacked (constructive dismissal anybody) and Poyet is also bookies favourite to replace Pardew although this isn’t a club shortlist on this occasion.

I think it is fair to say that we will dismiss this little piece of genius journalism and I suspect that we could quote easily put 2+2 together and work out where this one came from.

As they say, move along, nothing to see here.
